First hurdle cleared

Dave has been approved for permanent residence! (Three weeks till we actually receive the card, though.) Since it’s by marriage, his PR status is conditional until we get the condition removed on our second anniversary. Not a problem – Google Calendar will remind me.

Our new LPR (aka “lawful permanent resident”) holds identical copies of his notice:
