Blog = $$$ ?

I don’t think this is accurate, since it’s calculated only by number of links and doesn’t take into account traffic or ads, but it’s fun to see that my blog might actually be worth something…

My blog is worth $3,951.78.

How much is your blog worth?

Psychofreak

I beat Psychonauts tonight! It took me 25 hours total. Now I know how much of my life this game has claimed. I have no regrets – it was spectacular fun. The last level where I got stuck really made me mad at times, but when I finally got through it after what felt like 100 attempts at this one part, it turned out it was really close to the final battle. So that’s why it was hard.

Yay, Raz!

I don’t think I’ll play it again anytime soon. After the end credits, it took me back to the start screen instead of back to the home base level. I was hoping I could keep playing and tie up loose ends (finish collecting objects, etc.) like with Kameo, but…it’s better this way. This way I won’t spend more time than I need to on this game. This way there’s closure. This way I can tend to other hobbies, like, er, that scrapbook that I haven’t touched in a couple months…

Humbled

I feel so unworthy!

There’s more where that came from. Just go to YouTube and search for “Chinese yo yo.”

I’m pretty sure both these guys are using diabolos rather than traditional Chinese yo yo’s with the plastic axis and hollow drums. The diabolo evolved from the Chinese yo yo after early European missionaries brought the traditional yo yo from China. I’ve always been suspicious of diabolos because they look and feel so different, but now I realize they are more forgiving of error due to their shape.

With the Chinese yo yo, you have to be really precise with your point of contact – your string always has to hit the brass center or else the yo yo loses its balance.

But diabolos, given their true hourglass shape and sloping insides, would naturally slide a wayward string into the center.

I gotta try it out.

If you’re interested in buying one, so far I’ve found sellers for both diabolos and yo yo’s online. I’ll post on it again after I do more research.
